2013 King's Summer School in Data Journalism
Wednesday, 10 April 2013 10:19
We are pleased to announce full details for the 2013 University of King's College Summer School in Data Journalism, which runs from June 24 to 28.
Now in its sixth year, the school is Canada's longest running and best known intensive course in data journalism methods. It takes place in Halifax, always a nice place to visit in June.
Once again this year, we'll cover the basics of working with data and building interactive maps and visualizations. And once again, we'll introduce students to scraping.
More than ever, we'll be working with freely available tools that will allow graduates to go put their new skills to work without a big cash outlay.
In fact, being affordable is always part of the King's summer school. A full week of training can be had for as little as $325. Even last-minute registrants from large news organizations pay no more than $550 for the week.
And because we're on campus, we can offer the university residence as an inexpensive alternative to pricey hotels.
